        Dear Assistant Commissioner Keating,
        Thank your letter dated 07/08/01.
I am very pleased to learn that the heritage matters I have
informed you about in my e-mail correspondence have been passed on by The Garda Siochana
to Dúchas (The Irish Heritage Service); and, that you are waiting for a report from
        them.
Please note that I sent an e-mail to Dúchas
myself on March 16th 2000 (for the purpose of seeking help regarding local heritage
matters); and that later the same day I also sent a printed copy of the e-mail
in question (containing a hand-written note at the bottom) through the registered
post to them.  It was addressed as follows:
        The Heritage Service
        51 St. Stephen's Green
        Dublin 2.
The number of the registration slip associated with the
above mentioned letter to Dúchas is:
        RR 2402 3912 5IE
An A3 size copy of the March 16th 2000 letter to
Dúchas, together with the original Post Office registration slip, have been on
public display in one of the front windows of my brother's business premises here in New
Inn village for the entire period since March 16th 2000;  and, both items
are still on display in the same location.
When - after a period of some SEVEN
MONTHS or so - the above communications to Dúchas failed to produce any
useful practical results (that I could see), I tried to follow up on the matter by
writing to Prime Minister Ahern on October 11th 2000.  A copy of the letter I
wrote to Prime Minister Ahern on October 11th 2000 can be seen at the www page address
        immediately below:

The letter of October 11th 2000 to Prime Minister Ahern
referred to in the paragraph above was followed by another a few weeks later
(dated October 26th 2000): a copy of which can be seen at www page address:
        http://homepage.eircom.net/~williamfinnerty/chaplefinnerty/letters1/oct-26-00.htm
In your investigations, it would be much appreciated if
you could take full overall account of all of the above information please.
        Sincerely,
        Mr. William Finnerty.
