        Dear Mr. Justice Smyth,
It is reported on page 7 of today's Irish Independent
Newspaper that you have stated: "everyone was equal before the law and that there
        were no untouchables".
I strongly suspect that when you made this statement,
you would not have been aware of the information regarding the problems outlined at the
        following www page address:
         http://homepage.eircom.net/~williamfinnerty/legal-help.htm
Ideally, I believe that all of your judicial
colleagues should be made aware of the information referred to above; and, assuming that
it would be in order for you to do so, it would be much appreciated if could copy this
        e-mail to them please.
It is also reported (in the leading front-page headline of
today's Irish Independent) that you have said: "This rot has got to stop."  I
am delighted that you have said this, and that you have said it in such a public
way.  Personally, I find myself in full agreement with this statement; and I believe
that there may be a great many other people in this State who feel exactly the same way
        as I do.
Allowing for the possibility of e-mail delivery problems, I
intend to send you a printed copy of this e-mail through the registered post later
        today.
        Sincerely,
        Mr. William Finnerty
