Thank you for contacting me earlier today.
I have sent e-mails (containing identical text to that sent to
your firm) to a total of eleven law firms located in different parts of the
country. This was done partly because I see the "general problem" (referred
to in the 2nd paragraph from the end of my original e-mail below)
as a national one really - even though all three of the examples I have used to outline
the developing situation are connected with the east County Galway area (which is where I
happen to live at the present time, and where my family of origin comes from).
Two of the eleven law firms I have sent the e-mails to are well
established practices with postal addresses within the County Galway boundaries; and
although I have not heard anything from either of them yet, I might do later. (All of
the eleven e-mails were sent at the same time.)
I intend to contact you again within the coming few weeks or so - even if it
is just to let you know how things worked out regarding the other law firms.

I am wondering if your law firm might be able to help me with some problems I am
encountering - which I have attempted to outline for you as efficiently as I can
using the three examples set out below.
In connection with the matters in question, which all have to
do with certain environmental and heritage protection issues, I have reached a point
where it appears (to me) that a considerable number of people may have got into
the habit of operating outside the limits of the law, and the principles of the
Constitution.
Example 1:
Although Galway County Council have recently made certain alterations which now hide
the overall problem to a large extent, it is nevertheless the case that all of the sewage
discharges shown in the photographs on the www page address immediately below are (to
the very best of my knowledge) still going straight into the river just beside where
I live. Please see:

I have been informed that "an order of mandamus"
can be used to compel a person, or a body (such as Galway County Council) to perform a
legally imposed duty; and, that its use would definitely be appropriate in this
particular situation. However, I understand that the legal procedures involving an
order of mandamus need to be initiated by a solicitor: and I am not a solicitor.
Example 2:
Leading front-page headlines on the July 20th 2001 edition of the local Connacht Tribune
weekly newspaper indicate that the ESB project referred to at the following
address is now going ahead - apparently exactly as planned, and presumably as shown
in the photographs at www page address just below:

Example 3:
Though the alterations to the field shown in the photographs on the following www page
have been brought to the attention of the Garda Siochana several months ago, they have not
(as far as I know) done anything about this particular situation which might in the least
way deter others from doing similar things in the future. Please see:

Although little or nothing of any value (as I see it) has
resulted from my efforts to date, numerous attempts have nonetheless been made to
bring the general problem outlined above to the attention of several
