Dr Niamh Clune of Zero Waste Alliance Ireland will give a presentation on Resource Recovery Parks: A Twenty-First Century Solution to a Nineteenth-Century Problem. Graham Leach of Sam Shire will outline the methods used by Sam Shire Recycling company to cater for 98% of the household waste produced in Connaught. He will explain the end destination of all recycled waste, e.g. organic, wood based, metal based, etc. He will also explain what happens with waste received that is not directly recyclable, e.g. Waste to Energy. (Galway Recycling Plan) Andrew St. Ledger, PRO of the Woodland League, will give a presentation on Local Agenda 21, the Rio agreement and the Aarhus Convention Agreement. Ann Marie Kelly will chair the meeting. She will also discuss her proposed constitutional High Court challenge regarding the removal of power from the locally elected politicians in matters such as the placement of landfill and incinerator sites.
