Dear Prime Minister
Ahern,
RE: SUSPENSION OF ARREST
WARRANTS
This is a request for information on the
suspension of arrest warrants, for the reason I have
stated below.
I have already found some information on the
Internet relating to this subject. However, it all seems to relate to states
which are a long way away from the
Republic of Ireland and the
United
Kingdom of Great Brittan and Northern Ireland, as, for example, with the
following piece which has to do with an event that took place in Eastern Europe
earlier this year:
"Serbian officials
suspended
an arrest warrant for Slobodan Milosevic's widow today, increasing
speculation that the former president's funeral may be held in Belgrade." (This
piece of text has been copied from the following location:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/yugo/article/0,,1730681,00.html
.)
Basically, and among a number of other things, I am
trying to gain
SAFE access to legal papers in my home in
County Galway in the
Republic of Ireland for the purpose
of defending myself in court; but, so far, I have failed to find any way of
having the warrant for my arrest suspended while I do
so.
In an e-mail dated June 12th 2006, which was copied
to you, I wrote to the
Chief Commissioner of Police in the Republic of
Ireland (Mr Noel Conroy) in connection with the
extant warrant for
my arrest issued in
2002. However, I have not received any
reply of any kind at all from Commissioner Conroy, even though I also sent a
signed and printed copy of the e-mail in question to him on June 12th 2006 as
well. The matter of the extant warrant for my arrest was mentioned to
Commissioner Conroy at the following text location in the e-mail:
http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com/CommissionerNoelConroy12June2006/Email.htm#warrant
Also,
a senior social worker in Northern Ireland (Mr Gerard Madden) wrote on my
behalf to Chief Commissioner Conroy three days later, on June 15th 2006, as can
be seen at the following address:
http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com/GerardMadden15June2006/Letter.htm
Unfortunately,
and in so far as the actual resolution of my legal difficulties is concerned, Mr
Madden's efforts have also failed to produce any useful results that I know
of.
Allowing for the above, it would be very much appreciated if
you could please advice me as to what exactly the legal situation is regarding
the suspension of arrest warrants in the Republic of Ireland: in
relation to my particular case, which I have already written to you
and your senior colleagues about on several occasions during recent
years.
With regard to the matter outlined in the paragraph
immediately above, I hope to receive a written reply from you, or from one of
your senior colleagues, within the coming 21 days please.
For
future reference purposes, I intend to place a copy of this e-mail at the
following address later today:
http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com/PrimeMinisterAhern17July2006/Letter.htm
I
also intend to send a printed and signed copy of this e-mail to you through the
registered post later today.
Yours
sincerely,
William Finnerty
