There is much I can agree with in both Susan's and Poster's arguments (above), and together they represent for me something of a very welcome breath of fresh air.
  
Basically though, I would feel more comfortable (for now at least) in Susan's camp.
  
Try as they might, the greed-ridden types of people may still have a VERY big job on their hands to fully erase the deeply held feelings associated with Pádraig Pearse (executed in Dublin by firing-squad in 1916) and his thoughts of "protest for a glorious thing" - which I personally believe is "genuine democracy" of the kind described by United States President Lincoln as "government of the people, by the people, for the people": the so called "unfinished work" he spoke of (just a short time before his untimely assassination), and its closely associated potential for "genuine justice", and for "genuine peace in the world" of a kind that might well prove sustainable. ("Unfinished Work" this most certainly is!!)
  
Then the greed-ridden types have the Internet to worry about - for now at least, and possibly for the rest of human history: unless "they" can somehow get overall control of it of course. It's not as easy these days for the "incurably greed-ridden" to hoodwink large numbers of people "in the manner to which they have been accustomed" up until quite recently. (Regarding this point, it's possibly worth keeping in mind that we're ONLY 15 years or so into "The Internet Age" at the present time.)
  
Last but not least there's the matter of the negative energies aroused by the vast array of injustices that the activities of the greed-ridden invariably seem to set in motion, and which often get reflected back onto themselves eventually, after the hoodwinked people have seen through all the lies and deceptions: and sometimes too it is reflected back (by the victims) onto the "public servants" with plenty of "interest" added.
